IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - Frequency Change
OmniSTAR has been asked to change channels (frequencies) on the MSV Satellite that broadcasts OmniSTAR corrections for North America. Most users have the capability of changing the frequency on their GPS systems, either via a Control Panel or through an auxiliary program. Others will need to update the firmware from the receiver manufacturers. New firmware will be available in early July.
To avoid an abrupt change-over for everyone, we are currently broadcasting identical information on both old and new frequencies. This dual broadcast will continue through August, 2005. Users may change at any time prior to that date, but we advise doing it as soon as possible - in case they encounter a problem in making the change.
The "OLD" frequency you are currently using is one of the following:
Eastern 1556.825
Central 1554.497
Western 1551.489
Set in the "New" frequency for the Region you are now using (Eastern, Central, or Western).
The "NEW" frequencies for North America are:
Eastern 1530.3590
Central 1534.7410
Western 1536.7820
NOTE: The Baud Rates or Symbol Rates for these frequencies have not changed.
Only users in North America are required to change their frequency.
This change is necessary to continue using OmniSTAR Corrections in North America.
OmniSTAR will attempt to contact all known users (or their Dealers) to assist in making the frequency change. If you have questions on how to make the change, call now to 888-883-8476 and ask for Customer Service. |
